Addyson's Warriors
Donation protected
In March, 2015, my daughter and son-in-law made the toughest decision of their lives to uproot their family from West Chester, Ohio to move across the country to Denver, Colorado to access life saving medication for their daughter, my granddaughter, Addyson.
Addy was born June 16, 2011. She experienced her first seizure around 9 months old. At that time nobody truly understood the severity of her illness but when her EEG showed 40 seizures in 55 minutes our hearts sank. We knew this was bad! After her diagnosis she began trying different pharmaceutical medications. Within only a few short months she had failed over a handful and the hope of "fixing" her started to set in as panic. We were not going to lose her!
After doing some research Heather and Adam realized that Medical Marijuana has been proven to reduce seizures and in a lot of cases completely stop them. They knew this was what they HAD to do for precious Addy.
Since being in Colorado for almost two months Addy has gone from having close to 100 "head drops/full body drops" a day, as well as needing rescue medication often to having under 15 consistently a day. Her eye flutters are completely gone and her jerks are limited to when she is trying to fall asleep. This brings everyone hope AND its only the beginning of their journey.
Addy's medication IS NOT covered by insurance and is several hundred dollars a month. I feel helpless in Ohio but feel compelled to do whatever I can to help them in this success.
Please feel free to share this page to bring awareness to their situation and lets work together in helping their family not feel any further financial hardship. Even if you are unable to donate, please share and say a prayer for her health.
As her grandmother, my heart aches that they are so far away but I also couldn't be any prouder of my daughter for putting her child first.
