Hi friends and family. I am Matt's mom and I am setting up this fundraiser to help raise money for desperately needed alternative treatments for his brain tumor. Those alternative treatment unfortunately are not covered by insurance and that is why we are seeking help with this fundraiser to help pay for them, since they will be all paid out of pocket.
We know that our friends and family have many questions about his condition and the prognosis. It is my hope to answer some of these questions here and to illustrate the vital role that the necessary immunotherapies play in empowering the immune system to attack and destroy cancer cells. Infact, immunotherapy has been proven to extend life beyond projected outcomes and send cancer into remission and this is why we are choosing these alternative treatments.
What kind of cancer does Matt have?
Matt has a grade 4 Glioblastoma. This is the highest and most aggressive form of brain cancer on the scale. It tends to reproduce quickly and destroy brain tissue.
Where was it located?
Matt's tumor was located in the upper right side of the brain and was removed with good retraction. However, like mentioned above it tends to reproduce quickly and that is that why we are hoping to start quickly with intense alternative treatments.
What is the average prognosis?
Unfortunately, according to standard treatment average prognosis is 1-2 years with surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments.
What are the pros and cons of chemotherapy and radiation? And why we are or not considering it.
Chemotherapy and radiation are used over a period of weeks and also kills healthy cells of the immune system. Cancer cells will eventually return to this area of the brain.

Can the immune system fight cancer?
The body can fight cancer cells with the elimination of certain toxins and nutrition that is geared specifically to boosting the immune system. The doctors Matt is seeing is going to use these techniques.
We have heard personal and have seen countless of testimonials how alternative treatments have placed their cancer in remission...
One of Matt's immediate friends had stage 4 cancer through out his body and was given only three weeks to live. Using the therapies previously mentioned, his immune system overcame the cancer and he has now been in remission for 3 years! Another friend of Matt's had brain cancer and applied the mentioned therapies as well surgery and has now been in remission for 5 years now. Our hope and prayer is that Matt will overcome his brain cancer and send it into remission. As a loving husband and father of three, even more is the prayer that there will be many years to come experiencing the joys of fatherhood and marriage. It is our hope also, that if you are going through cancer, that you would know of the love, joy, peace, and eternal reward that can and does sustain us through every hardship. We do not fight the battle of cancer, or any other distress alone. As we reach out to others that love us and our savior, we are strengthened by the knowledge that we are forever in His hand and forever His. Isaiah 41:10 says something that is profoundly comforting to me as Matt's mother:
"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous hand."
