Pray for Shay

Hi I’m Britt and I am looking for the support of our community to help our sweet Shay. I have permission from my friend Jess (Shay’s mom) to do what ever we can help to relieve some stress.

Shay had a higher than normal heart rate on march 23 and was admitted to emergency nothing came of it they did blood work sent us home

This past couple weeks she just seemed “off” - really tired, sleeping more than usual.

Tuesday shay slept 18/24 hours. I called the hospital and because she didn’t have a fever was told to just keep and eye.

Wednesday she again slept all day and I was again in contact with the hospital.

Thursday morning Shay woke up crying and sounded like a deal we were rushed to Surrey memorial children’s oncology unit

Her heart rate was going between 170-206

Her oxygen was in the mid 80’s

She went from no fever to a fever of 39.9 in 20 minutes

They started her on a broad spectrum antibiotics nothing has worked

We have had a CT and an ultrasound sound to rule out fungal infection

Her ct also showed how severe her pneumonia was

It was really scary I really did think I was going to lose shay.

Two days ago april 8 shay told me “mommy I think I’m actually dying this time, I’m going, it’s my time to go”

She has a hard time breathing her fevers have gotten progressively worse day by day she got up to 40.8 yesterday

The Beginning : The Howell family is a family of four living in Surrey, BC, Canada, with mom, dad, younger sister, and 5-year-old Shay. Recently, Shay was diagnosed with leukemia, and they have had to take extended periods of time off work to care for her during chemotherapy and other treatments.

The family is now facing significant financial stress due to a loss of income and increased expenses associated with Shay's illness. We are hoping to raise funds to help the Howell family cover their expenses and take some of the financial pressure off during this difficult time.
