I have set up this Go Fund Me Page for the Youngman family as my heart is aching for them.
Premmie Twins
It all started a year ago when Alana went into labour with twin boys at only 27.4 weeks. Lucas and Noah were born at Warragul hospital by emergency team flown by helicopter from the Royal Women's Hospital. Lucas was 1.19Kg and Noah was 1.23Kg. When they were stable they were sent to Royal Women's Hospital when they stayed for 6 weeks before being transferred to Casey Hospital for another 4 weeks. Both Lucas and Noah developed well and Ethan was such a great big brother. Alana and Chris both juggled going into the Royal Women's Hospital (and later Casey) to see the twins whilst trying to keep Ethan into some kind of routine and Chris working when he could.
Lucas came home from hospital on Christmas Eve and Noah followed on January 2nd. They were so glad to have the twins home and they were able to get back into somewhat normal life.
Having such premature babies and all the extra cost of road tolls, petrol and parking was hard on the family but they made it work.
CANCER
Last week, they celebrated the twins 1st Birthday. Even at their party, I remember Alana saying, "look how pale Lucas is, something doesn't seem right with him."
On Monday 29th October, Alana and Chris were told something no parent wants to hear- Lucas has Leukemia. This was a massive shock to them. Straight away he was transferred to Monash Children's Hospital in Clayton where he underwent further testing to diagnose both his immediate and future treatment.
This beautiful family have went through hell and back in the last year and now Lucas has a massive fight on his hand to beat cancer. Lucas is such a happy, gentle soul and we have all our fingers crossed he kicks the cancer's butt.
Having a baby go through chemo and being in and out of hospital is going to cause further financial stress and I believe no family should have to worry about money, they need all the energy to be there for Lucas and the other two boys.
