Bring Paul Sweeney home

We need help to bring our father, Paul Sweeney, home to Kerry. Paul is 57 years old and is normally in great health. He went on holidays to Benidorm, Spain, 3 weeks ago. While there, he became critically unwell with bacterial meningitis.

He was place on life support, on a ventilator in ICU. He initially improved, however during this time he suffered a potentially life changing brain injury and the doctors wanted to remove treatment.

He now has a tracheostomy to help him breathe and will require a long period of hospitalisation and rehabilitation. University Hospital Kerry have kindly accepted him home, however the cost of the air ambulance is €36,800.

He is in a period of his recovery where he is now stable enough to be transferred. Our fear is if he deteriorates again we will never get him home.
