Keep Skye smiling!

My daughter Skye was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia exactly a year ago today. It was a complete shock and most heartbreaking news I could ever receive as a parent. The last year has been extremely difficult and Skye has been through more than any child should ever experience in their lifetime. She has had countless lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies under general anaesthetic, daily chemo, several hospital admissions due to infections, heart scans, heart palpitations, severe anxiety and the list goes on. It has been a living nightmare and we still have over 15 months left of treatments.

Skye’s dream is to go on holiday once this awful journey is over and I would do anything for her to have that dream.

An incredible group of friends have signed up to run the Chelmsford half marathon with me on March 5th 2023 to support Skye by raising funds for her dream end-of-treatment holiday and to raise awareness for childhood cancer. To my friends, for their continued support, I honestly can never thank you enough.

Half of all donations will be given to the incredible Gold Geese Charity, who have been there for us right from the start of this awful journey. We literally couldn’t have done this without their support and we would love to give something back to this amazing charity, so they can help other families going through a very difficult time. The other half of the money raised will go towards giving Skye and her brother the holiday they deserve at the end of Skye’s treatment.
