Akshay's Eagle Project: Condit Weather Station

Hi!

My name is Akshay Kapur and I am a Life Scout in Troop 549. I have been in scouting for almost a decade, starting as a Cub Scout in Pack 130.

As my Eagle Scout Service Project, I am building an Educational Weather Station for Condit Elementary School in Bellaire, TX. The weather station will have high-quality, accurate instruments that can be used by students and teachers to learn about weather and observe and record data.

My project honors all the science teachers and meteorologists who have encouraged me and taught me for so many years. This weather station will stimulate young minds and provide them a hands-on resource to learn about weather.

The Educational Weather Station is an outdoor installation on wooden posts and panels. Instruments including a thermometer, rain gauge, barometer, hygrometer and a wind vane will be mounted on the panels. There will be signs for students to identify each instrument. Each instrument will allow for measurements which can be recorded by students for their class work and school projects.

I am seeking donations for purchasing the materials required to complete this project. Any amount of money you are willing to contribute is appreciated. I would also be grateful if you shared this fundraiser with your friends and family. I am grateful for your support, donations and shares.
