BLM @ SMU

BLM @ SMU was created in the summer of 2020. Our goal was $200 for apparel as students returned to campus amidst political and social unrest. Now, in 2022, we are a team of 9 women striving to continue to make change on SMU's campus. We have done workshops for faculty, 2 BLM marches, BlackArtistsMatter events, passed out over 600 pieces of apparel, and held multiple panels for students on campus. The promise made at the end of 2020 was that We, as a society, would not forget. We are hoping to continue that promise with our work.

Goals:

1. Change campus culture

2. Help students participate in the BLM movement

3. Uplift, celebrate, and give space to Black voices
