Hello, my name is Brittany and this is my sweet baby Dexter. I had saved him from an unkindly home when he was just a pup. I’ve cherished him for the past four years and have been hit with a very painful reality.

I had come home after work to see one side of his face looking like it had been completely flattened. As I was in total shock I called every vet near me but there was no availability any where. I drove an hour away to an emergency vet hospital just hoping that he was alright.

I was sobbing as the veterinarians said they were going to take him for an MRI because with out that we would have no clue what was going on. I had to leave him in a place he’d never been before for the night and the next day I got a call.

There were two opposing opinions. Neurology believes that it is a muscle atrophy and radiology believes that it is a cancerous tumor that is making his muscles regress. For the next two weeks I was to give him a steroid to hopefully help regrow the muscle that has been completely lost from that side of his face. After those two weeks have passed, we went back to the vet and due to no muscle regrowth it is not looking well.

In less than two months, we will be going back and they are going to give us their final diagnosis. He has not at this point gained any muscle back in his face. Every day, more and more it seems that it is cancer.

This breaks my heart knowing he has only made it to four years old and most likely won’t be able to make it one more year.

I am making this go fund me to be able to spend the time I have left with him as smooth as I can before I no longer get to come home to my boy. I am over thrown with stress at the moment and I am asking for some help to elevate it so I can focus on making these last months the best for Dex as they possibly can be.

What my goal is, is the cost of all the veterinarian bills I have at the moment. Anything donation is going to be extremely helpful and appreciated more than anyone will know. If you are unable to donate I completely understand but please share as one share goes a long way an is just as helpful.
