Chris’s fight

Hi all I’m the second Shannon ,(dads step daughter)

This is Our dad Chris , the biggest petrol head , car enthusiast fella there is , he is a dad to 4 & a grandad to 5 , a son , a brother and uncle a cousin a best friend , who is loved dearly by us all .

he has been diagnosed with Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the lung wich has messatated(spread) to the brain. Dad has lung cancer and cancer in the brain.

Unfortunately the tumour dad has is the most aggressive type.

Dad was rushed into emergency surgery in November where they removed a 6cm cancerous tumour wich was pushing on his cerrabellar, (the important part of the brain that controls , movement , sight , neurons memory) he was doing well and sent home.

Fast forward to the 15th January , dad was suffering with severe headaches making him very unwell , he went for more scans and by the 26th January he was blue lighted back to Southend where they discovered the previously removed tumour had come back bigger , with another tumour that has also spread to the front of the brain.

Dad is due to have another emergency surgery only removing a small part of the original tumour this time , they can’t operate on the other brain tumour nor the lung tumour.

After surgery , dad will have to be well enough to then undergo radiotherapy, and if this doesn’t hold the cancer at bay , dad will then be made comfortable, and will be allowed home with palliative care , and us his family looking after him until it’s time.

Dad has been given 1 year at max.

I’m trying to raise funds so we can make life abit less stressful for him , and to make him as comfortable as possible and for any adaptions he will need for at home as he will need round the clock care . I’d also like to be able to get him anything he wants along his gruelling journey.
