Hello everyone, my name is Crystal Ahlin, and am reaching out to help my oldest sister Melissa Eagle during this rough time.

Why I'm fundraising

She has conditions called drop foot also know Neuropathy and severe nerve damage so sometimes her leg/legs gives and she fells. On December 21, 2023 she was walking down the hall at the hospital after physical therapy on her back and fell and broke her femur. She isn’t really sure on how it happened she just remembers being in severe pain. Thursday evening/night she was transported by ambulance to KU medical hospital to have surgery. On Friday December 22nd, she went in for surgery after a long 3 hr surgery they placed a metal plate and some screws to fix/repair her femur. The doctors told her she needed to be in a rehab facility for 6-8 weeks. As of right now she is still at KU medical waiting on her insurance and coverage for the rehab facility. One facility unfortunately denied her (they tried everything possible to be able to approve her but where it’s the end of the year and the beginning of the new year there is a new deductible to be met which means she needs to pay that upfront. She is currently waiting to hear from another place in Elwood, Ks but looks like she won’t hear anything until January 2nd. So am reaching out to try to help her out with being about pay her deductible and being about to pay her rent, car payment and car insurance. As she fears of losing them since she can’t currently work and short term disability through her employer/insurance is only a certain percentage.
