Nicole's Fight against Multiple Myeloma

Donation protected
Update (4-11-20 at 10am): Taking into account the incredibly swift response of so many generous donors in the initial hours of this fundraising campaign, it was decided to increase the goal of the campaign to more accurately reflect the high medical costs of Nicole's current and future treatments. Please continue to pray, support, and share this opportunity with others.

In February, Nicole Mielke was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer known as multiple myeloma. She immediately began treatment and is currently receiving regular chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the aftermath of the chemo treatments has also resulted in regular dialysis as Nicole's kidneys shut down attempting to filter out the dead cancer cells. This cancer battle is now extremely complicated by the pandemic we are all surrounded with.

Nicole and Tim Mielke have been selfless examples of servitude. Nicole previously taught Spanish at Shoreland Lutheran High School, and currently serves in multiple roles at Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia. Tim teaches and leads the STEM program at Shoreland and has also been the head Varsity baseball coach at SLHS for 10+ years. They have two young children.

After initial diagnosis, Tim communicated the following to the Shoreland faculty: “In the coming months we will need to draw strength first and foremost from the Word, but also from our families, our friends, our family of believers at Trinity, and our family of believers at Shoreland. Please continue to bring your prayers on our behalf to the throne of God asking for His hand of blessing to be on Nicole, her medical team, and on our family. “

The Mielke family has given so much to the Shoreland family and the Shoreland baseball family would like to help the Mielkes and lessen their burden in any way possible as their medical bills begin to rise.

Please pray for Nicole, Tim and their family as they endure the toughest battle of their lives. Any support would be so appreciated.

Galatians 6:2 - "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."

Romans 12:13 - "Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality."
