Support Emily DiGiulio in Her Fight Against Stage III Breast Cancer
A message from Emily 3/22/25
A message from Stephanie:
THANK YOU all so very much!!! We are incredibly humbled by the outpouring of love, kindness, support, and generosity of family, friends, and strangers. It is almost too much to comprehend, yet so very much appreciated. Words cannot express how grateful, thankful, and blessed we are for this village that has come together for our Emily. Go Fund Me reached out to ask for me to give advice to others to help make their campaigns as successful. I had to laugh, because all I did was tell Emily’s story and hope to get her a little help. Emily, her family, and you incredible people did all of the hard work by being the people you are every day.❤️️ THANK YOU!!l
Emily DiGiulio, my beautiful, kind-hearted, and outgoing 24-year-old niece, had her life turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Stage III ER/PR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer in January—just two days before her brother’s wedding and two weeks after her father’s unexpected passing. A beloved friend, former student-athlete at Revere High School, and recent Summa Cum Laude graduate of Syracuse University, Emily had just begun building her life in New York City when this devastating news changed everything. She was working and living independently in Hoboken, NJ, with her dog and cat, but her diagnosis forced her to leave her job and apartment to move back home to Boston for treatment.
Emily is currently three rounds into an eight-round chemotherapy regimen, which will be followed by surgery, radiation, and long-term hormone therapy. Knowing that treatment could impact her fertility, she made the difficult decision to freeze her eggs before starting chemo. While insurance covered the procedure, it only covers two years of storage, meaning she will soon have to pay out of pocket to preserve her chance of having a family in the future. Her battle is far from over, and the road ahead is long and challenging.
Throughout this journey, Emily’s mother, Debbie, has been her primary caregiver, managing medical bills, prescription costs, transportation, and other daily needs while also caring for Emily’s 94-year-old grandfather. In addition to Debbie’s support, Emily’s brother and sister-in-law have moved back to Boston to help provide care, while still maintaining their jobs and an apartment in Hoboken.
Emily has always been strong, determined, and full of life. She has always been one to give, but now, she needs our help. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in supporting Emily and her family through this incredibly difficult time. Please consider donating and sharing her story. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
