A Family is Hurting-Help David McGuinness

My name is Sue Arkwright and on February 19th my husband passed away at home after a three month battle with cancer.  That very same day...my son, David, was at the neighbor's house across the street on a tall ladder trimming a palm tree.    He was on a  safety harness and shortly after he got to the top of the ladder the harness failed and he fell over 20 feet to the ground.  He ended up severely breaking his left leg and right heel.  The was air-lifted to a great local trauma hospital called John Muir where the  best of the best surgeons, physician's assistants, doctors and nurses are caring for him.  We are blessed that he did not break his neck or back and did not hit his head.  All of his injuries will heal over time but he will not be able to work for several months and I (his mom) will be caretaking him at home .  His livelihood is doing all sorts of home repairs, maintenance and small construction jobs which he will not be able to do for some time.

Words cannot express how grateful we both are for all the help of friends, relatives and the community.   These funds have helped him get a cell phone, pay bills, buy food and pay for some medical supplies.    He is home temporarily until his next surgery on his left leg at which time he will be in the hospital again.   He needs a plate and stainless steel screws to hold all the bones in place and then the full healing can begin.    This is going to be a long process and these donations will carry us through a most difficult time.  Thank you to you all!
