Community Fridge SATX

Hello Fellow Community Members and Neighbors, My name is Leslie Rivera. Welcome to our Community Initiative, the Community Fridge. We feel called to take action, as a direct result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Racial Disparities that have since been exposed by it. Without Federal Assistance from the Government, many San Antonians are having to make the unfair choice between food and rent. During these troubling times, we witness communities supporting each other across the nation. We would like to implement the same initiative in San Antonio, through our community fridge. Our Community Fridge will serve as: • A Safe Space for those negatively impacted by the Pandemic. • Provide Fresh, Free Food Resources and essential items that are not readily accessible to community members, such as face masks, hand sanitizer, hand soap, feminine products, etc. • Minimize food waste with our "take what you need, give what you dont," approach.
