For the Love of Henry

Henry John Abels Rodriguez is a beautiful shining light to the world! When he arrived last August, he immediately captured the hearts of all of us through the countless photos and videos posted by his adoring parents and grandparents. Many of you have watched him grow this last year into the beautiful, strong, feisty, smiley little boy that we have all come to know and love.

This past Thursday, August 18th Henry was hospitalized with unexplained pain. Following a seizure and the discovery of a mass in his frontal lobe, he was air lifted to UCSF on August 19th where he is awaiting a biopsy, further testing and a comprehensive plan of action. The doctors have made it clear that Henry has a long road ahead of him. The amazing team at UCSF are working tirelessly, doing everything to keep the family’s spirts high made easier by Henry’s tenacious spirt and resilient nature. There are still many unknowns and costs will be ongoing for the foreseeable future.

Henry always brings joy and laughter to everyone around him and will not hesitate to tell you that he is “so big!” He and his family have the biggest hearts and are always the first to help others at a moment’s notice and they do so selflessly. As a close family friend, I felt the need to step forward and share this information to all that love him so that we may surround them all with our love, prayers and support. As a result of all of the unknowns, Taylor and Daniel will be off work and living in housing near the hospital to be as close to Henry as possible. If you are able, please help Henry and his family during this immensely difficult time. The funds raised will go towards Henry’s medical expenses and other needs that his family may have in the coming months of his recovery.
