Weight Loss Surgery journey

Hello, My name is Deja and I’m 23 years old, and I’m totally blind. I was diagnosed with cancer when I was two months old, and with tumors all over my brain. I was not expected to live long. I then had a procedure to get my eyes removed at 10 months old to prevent the cancer from spreading any further. I have experienced challenges from time to time, but I have had quite the life being blind and try to keep things positive and uplifting no matter what life throws me most days. At 18 years old, I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder. After I overdosed the doctors put me on some pretty heavy medication, that caused me to gain a great amount of weight in a short period of time. My family has always been known to have diabetes and high blood pressure, and with my rapid weight gain I now have diabetes. I have a scheduled weight loss surgery for January 10 of 2023, but I am falling short of my goal of the cost. My surgery is $13,000, which is pretty expensive and I recognize and understand this. Being blind it is very difficult to find employment as there are not too many employers willing to make things accessible. I am doing my very best to find jobs but I am having trouble. I am experiencing lots of pain in my bones and in the rest of my body which is causing issues walking and doing daily tasks, so this surgery is very important to me, and is definitely some thing I hold near and dear to my heart. If anyone would be able to help at all, any little bit helps. I appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read this, and may you be blessed with good fortune and prosperity in the new year! Happy holidays.
