On behalf of Michelle Austin and her family, who are facing a challenging time in their lives. Michelle has recently received the devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 Renal (kidney) cell carcinoma on May 24th, 2023. This aggressive disease has metastasized throughout her body to her lungs, abdomen, liver, pelvis, sacrum, femurs, and muscles. Sadly, at this advanced stage of cancer, means that it is inoperable and incurable. Without treatment Michelle has been given months. However, Michelle has decided to do treatment which is radiation and immunotherapy. Nevertheless, Michelle remains steadfast in her determination to fight, embrace each day with unwavering hope and to live each day to the fullest extent possible!
The primary focus now is managing pain, alleviating neurological symptoms, and exploring life-prolonging measures. Michelle has already undergone ten sessions of radiation therapy for a tumor on her sacrum to address the excruciating pain and neurological issues in her legs. In the coming weeks, she will begin immunotherapy to target the numerous lesions that have spread throughout her body. Although chemotherapy is not suitable for her specific type of cancer, the family has exhaustively explored every available option to achieve the best possible outcome.
Now, the family finds themselves in a position of vulnerability, and the reason for this request for support. The battle against cancer is not one that can be fought alone. The medical costs associated with Michelle's treatment are substantial and continue to accumulate each day. Additionally, the situation has become even more challenging as the family has transitioned from two household incomes to a single income, placing additional strain on their ability to meet these mounting expenses. As many of you know, they have three growing boys who rely on them for their needs and care.
On behalf of the family, we kindly ask that you might consider contributing to their GoFundMe campaign. This support will enable Michelle to focus on her treatment, healing, and spending precious moments with those she holds dear, especially her three boys who need her love and care during this difficult period.
We would also sincerely appreciate your support in sharing their GoFundMe page with your social circles, and networks, as the power of community and compassion can truly work miracles.
Regrettably, kidney cancer is often not detectable through routine blood work or standard tests. It tends to remain hidden until secondary injuries or symptoms arise, indicating that the disease has already advanced significantly. However, when diagnosed early, kidney cancer can be curable. The family implores all of you, their dear family, and friends, to remain vigilant about your health and that of your loved ones. Prevention and early detection can make all the difference.
Michelle and her family want to extend their deepest thanks and are full of gratitude for the unwavering support everyone has shown them. Your presence in their lives has been a source of strength and solace, and they are deeply thankful for each one of you.
