Brotherly Love

Our brother, Lenwood Deese of Pembroke, NC, is facing an enormous battle. He was recently diagnosed with End Stage Heart Failure. This condition causes the heart to be unable to pump blood correctly. Lenwood is currently in UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., awaiting an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device). This small pump is placed on the tip of the heart, allowing the left ventricular to pump better. This medical device is crucial for Lenwood's survival.

Lenwood needs our help. You can only imagine the high cost of this procedure. The doctors gave an estimate of $140,000. As an independent business owner, Lenwood doesn't get paid time off or has adequate health insurance. The medical expenses are more than they can financially sustain. His wife Jacqueline has been by his side supporting Lenwood while he has been in the hospital for the last six weeks. The road to Lenwood's recovery and rehabilitation is going to be a long one.
