Funds for The Adkins Family
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Warren Curry. I have decided to start this campaign to help some dear friends of ours who needs all of the help that they can get at this time.
Their names are Andrew and Christine Adkins. They are a wonderful young couple who were recently married (Dec 2013) and were just beginning life together as a family. I know them because they were members at one time of the church that I pastor. They are like a son and daughter to my wife and I.
On the afternoon of Sunday, November 2, 2015, Drew and Christine's lives were forever changed. While driving home from church, they were involved in a terrible accident. The car that they were driving accidentally ran into the back of a semi-truck and ended up smashed and lodged underneath the semi. Andrew was killed instantly. Christine, who was trapped in the car and had to be cut out, has sustained terrible injuries. Her injuries include a fractured neck, fractured hip, broken wrist, broken pinky finger, and multiple lacerations to the head and body. She was airlifted by helicopter to a local hospital in our area. Their two children, who were in the backseat at the time of the accident, miraculously sustained no injuries and came away from the accident unscathed. After being taken to a local children's hospital for observation, their daughter was released into the care of her biological mother and their son who is 7 months old, is currently being cared for by family, friends and loved ones. It is an absolute miracle that 3 out of 4 people survived that crash.
The story to their accident can be found here: http://www.whio.com/news/news/careflight-called-to-crash-on-i-70-west-preble-cou/npDSG/
We are raising this money to help defray the following expenditures:
1) Andrew's funeral and burial
2) Christine's hospital bills
3) Funding to help provide a financial cushion for the Adkins family after Christine's release and subsequent recovery from her hospital stay. She will undergo many months of therapy and recovery after she is released.
Currently, there isn't a definite timeframe for her to return to work to care for herself and her newborn son. Andrew was the primary caregiver financially for their home. With his loss, their family will sustain a tremendous loss in income. Christine will need time to recover emotionally from going to a newlywed to a widow, physically from the trauma of the accident and mentally as she adjusts to life being a single mom.
There are so many people all over that deeply love this family. If you believe in the power of prayer, we would appreciate you praying for all of us as we support them as they walk through this very tough time in their lives.
As the funding comes in, it will immediately help to start providing relief to Christine and her family as others are working around the clock caring for her newborn while she recovers in the hospital. It will also assist in helping her as she will be forced to make tough decisions from her hospital bed as she makes plans to lay her husband to rest.
Things in life can change so fast. Cherish and celebrate those in your life whom you love. You never know when they might take their last breath.
Thank you so much for listening to our story and for your prayers and financial contributions. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the Adkins family and their needs.
Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Sincerely,
Warren Curry
