Love and Prayers for Ileana Murray-Lawson

Ileana has had a rough past couple weeks and could use lots of love and prayers to get her back home and to make a full recovery. I started this fundraiser to try and take some of the financial stress off of Darian so she can focus on her lil princess getting well and coming back home to Montana to be reunited with her son and everyone that loves them❤️ below is a summary that Darian wrote to briefly explain what has been happening..
In December, Ileana was taken in to the ER for extreme lethargy, not eating, and no urine output. We discovered that she had an ear infection as well as a UTI. She was given antibiotics and was on the mend. A few days later she ended up falling off of a bed while I was at work, resulting in a small brain bleed. She also experienced a small focal seizure later that same day. The medical staff does not believe that her seizure was due to the fall. An X-ray was done of her lower extremities to make sure there were no breaks or fractures. They also did a CT scan to make sure her head was alright. This is where they discovered the fluid in her head.
After all that was said and done her primary doctor referred her to an ophthalmologist to make sure her eyes were good. It came back that she has a small stigmatism but will most likely grow out of as she gets older. Her doctor also set up an ultrasound for her kidneys to make sure they were functioning correctly .
An MRI was scheduled but without anesthesia. The test results weren’t readable so they scheduled one for another day and with anesthesia.
A couple days after that, she had croup and was given a dose of Dexamethasone.
She was then taken back to the ER for minimal urine output and vomiting. The ER doctor said she had acrid reflux and prescribed her Zantac. The next day was her second MRI under anesthesia.
Baby seemed to be doing good for a few days until she started vomiting again, no urine output, and agitation. They did another CT scan, called a couple pediatric neurologists and came to the conclusion that she had blood in her head from the fall. She had blood work done and an IV put in place.
This was the first time we were admitted into the hospital. They did a full skeletal scan to make sure they didn’t miss a break or fracture and all came back fine. She stayed for a couple days and on the day of discharge, was her EEG.
At this point I became frustrated with the hospital we were at and decided to change and get a second opinion. I took her into the ER because she didn’t seem to be getting any better. She was still so dehydrated that it took them well over five times to stick her before they got a vein to do an IV. They pushed fluids and had us go home and follow up with a pediatric physician the next day.
The Doctor looked her over and said that she was admitting her into the main hospital to be monitored overnight and to do some extra tests. She stayed in the hospital for six days. Within that one frame they did lots of blood work, took a stool sample, did a catheter for a urine sample, and out an IV in place for fluids. The results of those tests showed that she had bacteria in her blood as well as her urine. She had a UTI go septic and had Influenza H... we were released from the hospital with instructions for her to take an oral antibiotic for a week.
She was making great progress. Baby was sitting up on her own, laughing, smiling, and even feeding herself finger foods.
A week after we were discharged she started to act fussy again, fever, and vomiting. A day went by and I finally decided to take her back to the clinic. I requested a CT scan because I had a gut feeling something was wrong with her head. The CT scan showed that there was a growth in the area in her head where the blood was. Her brain was swollen.
We were admitted into PICU for the night and then flown to Denver Children’s Hospital. When we got to the hospital a neurosurgeon came in a said that her brain had shifted 17mm and was causing massive pressure/pain on her brain. He then stuck an IV needle into her soft spot and drained 11mL of pus like fluid from her head. They were expecting blood but instead got bacteria. Shortly after they removed the fluid she has another seizure. We were then admitted into the PICU where she was hooked up to an EEG to monitor any seizure activity and had more blood work done. Earlier today she had her third MRI done to see if anything changed.
We are currently waiting on lab work and results. We are unsure of how long we will be here in Denver doctors are saying we will take it one day at a time to see how her body responds, she will need to be on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks.
As you can read this little family has been through a lot in the past month, so please keep them in your prayers. Darian has been so strong and reluctant to ask for help but I know any money received she would be forever grateful and it will help take a burden off her shoulders.
