Help Tiani’s Family Rebuild

It is with tremendous sadness we share this update. Sadly on Tuesday morning the 8th Tiani suffered a massive heart attack and she did not survive. Her passing is a massive loss for so many. Her family, her partner, her friends  and her wider community. Her family really need your help right now as they struggle to rebuild their lives, bury Tiani and stay together. Hi my name is Naomi Feller and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my friend Tiani Browning and her Family recover from the recent flood in Lismore.

 

On Monday morning at 4 am, on the 28th of February, the Wilson River over topped the Lismore City levy and the largest flood we have ever seen, inundated the city.

 

Tiani was at home with her 84 year old mother and young son George. Luckily they were rescued by a Good Samaritan in a tinny at the last minute, right when they were working out how to climb on the roof. Tiani was heartbroken as she was forced to leave her beloved cat behind.

 

We are trying to raise 10k 
because Tiani, her mother and son have lost everything, she was not insured. They will need to replace all their belongings and furniture. The kitchen and the bathroom and hot water heater will also need to be replaced, to make their family home liveable again. Tiani also lost her car when the higher ground she parked it on, also went under.

 

Tiani is a well known and loved, proud, queer, minjungbul pooningbah woman. She is an active loving member of the northern rivers community. Often helping others in need, as well as being a pillar of strength and support for her large local family.

 

So now it’s time for us to put our hands in our pockets and help out our dear friend and her family.
