Vacation emergency far from home

We're on our annual vacation - this year was a trip to Acadia, ME.

Halfway through the trip, our transmission gave out. It's got a parts-only warranty on it, and repairs could be steep. In addition, we will have no way to get anywhere.

At this writing, we are an hour outside Augusta, ME, where we were going to stay for a few days while sightseeing the coastal area. We'll need a rental car, whether or not we do the sightseeing. Nothing is available in Augusta until Monday. It will be over $100 per day to rent.

We're just asking for some assistance financially. Logistically, we're probably just screwed. The last transmission took 2 weeks to get to the shop (supply chain). We have to be home by a week from today.
