Vacation Tragedy

On saturday, July 20th 2019, Rose Brewster, her husband Erik, their three children, Cloe (16), Kaylee (12), Riley (3), and Cloe’s boyfriend Shaun, were on vacation from Florida in Stratford CT. On their way to go see waterfalls they had heard about, they were hit head-on, by another vehicle trying to pass someone coming around a blind corner.
Both Kaylee and Shaun were pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated out.
Shaun suffered from two broken legs and a broken arm which required surgery. He has a rod in his leg and pins in his arm, still hospitalized at this time.
Kaylee had a broken back with a shattered T12 vertebrae and no feeling from the waist down.
Her surgery went well, they removed the shattered pieces and placed two 7” rods between 5 screws and fused a couple vertebra together.
She has been telling us she feels a tingle sensation in her thighs, which is great news. She will have a very long, hard road of recovery ahead of her. She is currently in an extreme amount of pain.
Cloe is in the emergency room as we speak to get checked out again. They only did a quick assessment on her initially because everyone wanted to transfer hospitals together. Awaiting results on xrays abd ultrasound but she can’t move one of her arms, numbness in her fingers and a painful abdomen.
Riley, is also in the emergency as we speak due to vomiting and lethargy. She has a burn from her car seat strap and a bruise on her head. No diagnostics were performed at the original hospital so now they are concerned about head a head injury. Awaiting more info on her.
Erik has leg injury and stitches both inside and outside his mouth where his teeth went through.
Rose is sore, but refused to be checked out because she wasn’t leaving kaylees side. I’m trying to get her checked out now.
They are going to need as much help and support as they can get! Everyone will be here in CT for a while, which means no one will be able to work for a while. Medical bills are going to be astronomical as well as needing a vehicle to get around in and lodging since the Ronald McDonald house is full here.
Please share this and let’s get them the help they need! Xoxo
