Hello all,
We created this page to update friends and family on Val's motorcycle accident and how we can support him on his long road to recovery.
On December 16th 2020 a car made an illegal turn in front of Val in San Marcos, CA causing him to fly 50 feet landing on his hands and face.
Val was transported to Palomar Medical center by ambulance where he underwent 5 surgeries with more on the horizon. His injuries include a severe concussion, a completely shattered left arm (which will eventually require a bone graft) and multiple broken bones in his right arm. He left a lot of blood and bone fragments from his arm on the scene, and the surgeon had to spend hours cleaning out the dirt and debris from his arm.
Val will be undergoing more surgeries, at least a year of physical therapy and will likely not regain full use of his left arm. He will not be able to lift more than 1lb for quite some time, and while he is focusing on healing, he will not be able to work to pay for his living expenses and extensive medical bills.
