Val Vardabasso

Hello, my name is Leandra Worden-Figg and I am creating this Go Fund Me in memory of my best friend Valerie Vardabasso. I have been asked by Val's son Roberto to create a Go Fund Me to assist with the cost of a headstone in Puerto Penasco. In addition it will also give assistance with Roberto's travel to Puerto Penasco and now his return to Canada. Any donation you can provide would be welcome. As Roberto is currently in Puerto Penasco, you are welcome to reach out to him in person to assist him with his trip.

Val was a rare, beautiful amazing sunny light that touched everyone she came in contact with. If you were to turn to the person next to you and asked “how did she brighten your life? I know that there would be a unique story for each and every one of us. She had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, tell them about how “AMAZING” life is, how “AMAZING” they are and what a privilege it is to exist in this “AMAZING” WORLD. You undoubtedly went away with a whole breadth of joy, love and determination you didn’t have previously.

The opportunities to spend time with Val were many as she valued her friends wherever she was, Puerto Penasco, Phoenix, Tucson, Victoria, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary and her beloved Prince George. She would take you in her fold and you knew you were in the presence of someone who makes things happen and for the betterment of all. She never ceased to see the good in all of us but to also make us want to pursue a more pure and genuine version of ourselves. She herself was always striving to do better, be more authentic, and be as close to the soul of herself as she could be, well still being planted in the soil of Earth.

One of Val's favorite quotes was:

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

She lived this, always working towards knowing MORE, learning MORE, understanding MORE!!! She was a perpetual student, striving to grow as much spiritually as she could; to understand human nature and why we do what we do. She would say when we talked, that she was looking for the next lantern on the path that would take her onto her next journey of enlightenment.

That being said, I know we are sad and grieving but I think it is fair to say that she has managed to find the next lantern and it is a star in the heavens. She is no longer encumbered by the roots of herself as an earthly flower, but is now part of our universe.

Now the universe is more beautiful, the stars shine brighter, the sunsets are more spectacular and we all have an angel with us. She was so giving in her physical life that I can only imagine the power and brightness of her spiritual light that is spreading across the universe and uniting us all in her love. Know that she is with you, with all of us, all of the time. If you are struggling or have a question, just ask her out loud, I know you will get the answer, just look towards the “SUN”.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to all her friends and family. It is certainly not surprising that Val was blessed with such AMAZING supportive friends and caring family.
