Valentine survived a horrific fire
Tax deductible
Our all-volunteer organization, New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is raising funds to help the owner of Valentine save his dog.
Last Tuesday a fire roared through a senior apartment complex in the small town of Dos Palos, California. One unit was destroyed and the lady living there was killed.
We received a phone call from Animal Control asking for help with a dog, Valentine, that survived the fire. The owner had nothing left as it was his unit that was destroyed. Not only that but his wife had died in the fire. Ronnie, the owner of Valentine, had nothing left except his dog.
At first, Valentine seemed okay with a few small burn spots and some lung damage. It became quickly apparent there were problems. Her skin began sloughing off. It continues now and we may need to move her to a facility specializing in burns. The owner has nothing left and no funds to help his dog. He tries to find a ride to visit her daily. Valentine is so sweet and never objects to any care she receives.
We did not anticipate this to be so costly. We are reaching out for help for Ronnie and his beloved dog, Valentine. If we are able we would like to move her to the specialty veterinarian hospital. Right now that isn't possible.

This is one of the very few photos we can share that is not very graphic. We will try to get others but each day seems worse right now.
Please help us save this girl!
