Valerie Beals Sick Time Fund

Hey Friends! Our friend Valerie has just gotten hit with multiple viruses for the last month. Starting with influenza in January and since she works in healthcare the protocol meant 7 days away from work. She only had a day or two of paid sick time from work due to having Covid back in September. She stayed home attempted to work after required quarantine but her symptoms lasted way longer and lingered over weeks. She tried to return to work only to become sicker. After urgent care visits and doctors visits she was sent home with antibiotics and a lingering cough but was told she wasn’t contagious. After her most recent visit for her lingering symptoms her doctor called with a positive result for RSV yesterday! Protocol from work means another week off. Again no sick time!

If you know Valerie then you know that her husband Scott is immunocompromised and on disability. She has become the sole working person in the home.

As part of our Rock Voices community she has been a standout volunteer in Northampton and Hadley often arriving early for chair setup or recording attendance. She’s the one dropping off surprise cupcakes or help when someone else is in need. It’s time for us to give back and help her family. Please donate any amount and share this widely!
