Valerie Hillier

Due to the heartbreaking passing of my Nanny Valerie Hillier I have decided to set up this go fund me account to raise money for a memorial rather than hundreds of flowers. This is approx £1000. Any money donated above this amount will be donated to the ICU ward at Hillingdon hospital where she was cared for at the end of her life. My mum and eldest sister Jodie spent all week holding her hand and stroking her head in her final moments.  On Sunday 7th at 11.41pm my Nanny took her last breathe with my sister jodie and my mum Donna by her side holding her hand.

 

As many of you are aware my nanny Valerie Hillier (maiden name Cole) was the most beautiful soul that touched many lives. Her infectious smile made everyone feel better. She helped every person she could. she loved children and helped and looked after every child she came across. She was loved by her brothers and sisters and all of her family. She will be sorely missed by everyone but especially my grandad Don. Her three children Donna, Jason and Marie her grandchildren Jodie, Savannah, Belle, Josh and Jess. And all of her beautiful great grand babies that she cherished Maddox, Jaxen, Parker, Sienna, Casper, Winter, Phoenix & Meadow.

my Nan loved to cook, we spent all weekends cooking together. She loved Christmas and made Christmas especially special for us children. Nanny was a proud worker. She did baking, worked at EMI, a cleaner and a childminder. Everything she did she did it with 100%. I grew up with my Nanny and grandad. Everyday they were in our lives and even lived with us for a while.

 

Valerie was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s around 8 years ago. We took care of her as she always did for us. The pandemic took a massive toll on her and she became immobile and late stage Alzheimer’s set in really quick. It was heartbreaking for her to not recognise us and for her to not know we were trying to help her.
