Valerie Shakespeare’s Funeral Fund
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Lee Shakespeare and Val is my Mum, she sadly passed away on the 10th of December at 6:30pm. She had been battling Lung cancer that had spread to her bones. She tried her best to live a normal life after her diagnosis in March early this year (2022) but it finally caught up with her when she started to become weaker and struggle to eat in August. She suffered a very bad fall at home where she laid alone for most of the night trapped under a kitchen door that had fell on her when she grabbed it for support. At this time she was admitted to hospital where she wasn’t treated very well and ended back at home with carers visiting 4 times a day. In November she was taken into St Claire’s Hospice in Harlow for symptom treatment at which point she made a magnificent improvement in her health and had more life in her. They were exceptional in caring for her but unfortunately she deteriorated very quickly afterwards.
she was a strong woman who could be stubborn as hell but had such a brilliant sense of humour. She raised me alone as a single parent and I am an only child.
We wasn’t prepared for this and unfortunately we are not eligible for any grants to help support the funeral costs. I am asking for donations of any amount to help contribute towards the cost instead of flowers and any funds left over after the cost of the funeral will go towards taking her to New Zealand to scatter her ashes with family there she hasn’t seen for 30 years.
thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
