Valued Staff of John Wilkinson School

The JOHN WILKINSON SCHOOL PTA is raising money for those who would like to contribute towards two leaving gifts for longstanding staff members who have helped our children thrive and grow over the years.

Mandy Shannon is a popular KS1 teacher whose smiley, friendly face has been a comfort for many children over the years. Mrs Shannon is a cornerstone in the fabric of our JWS values. Her enthusiasm is positively infectious. She has been an active link member of the PTA in helping at events and looking for worthwhile resources to utilise the money we raise.

Mrs Shannon has always had a natural love for English and reading, an essential skill which she has helped nurture and shape our children into skilled readers and writers. Many who have been taught by Mrs Shannon will undoubtedly remember her in years to come. We wish her much success in her new role.

Joan Bradfield is our treasured and much-loved School Cook. Providing healthy and hearty meals for the children daily, the JWS kitchen has become her second home. Mrs Bradfield has been creative with her fabulous special menus and adapting to changes in the school (such as the family dining initiative, deli bar and more).

We are sure many of the children's core memories have been fondly formed by Mrs Bradfield's well-known baking, whether it be an iced sponge, chocolate cake or a wholesome flapjack. It is time for Mrs Bradfield to hang up the apron strings and enjoy her deserved retirement.
