"Van for Pam"

Imagine a mother's required sacrifice for her special needs child.

No question, mothers are heroes, but mothers of special needs children are Super Heroes.

Meet this 56-year-old Super mom --- Regina.

For 35 years, Regina has cared for her daughter, Pam, who was born with severe Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and blindness. Pam cannot walk, talk or care for herself and requires full-time attention for her medical and physical needs. That attention is lovingly provided by her mom, Regina, her sole care provider. Regina has dedicated her life to supporting and caring for her daughter. She rarely asks for assistance.

However, Regina needs our help now.

Their 12 year old van with 185,000 miles that Regina uses to transport Pam to the doctor and physical therapy is rusting badly and can no longer be repaired -- indeed, it is on its last legs! We are looking to raise the necessary funds to replace the van with a new, handicap-accessible one that includes a long-term factory warranty that will reduce the costs and stress for Regina. Pam is so happy when she is told she is going anywhere!

In addition, several home repairs to their home are necessary to improve Pam's mobility and ease the access for Regina to move Pam in, out and around the house.

The request is to raise $100,000 to acquire and outfit a new van and pay for various home improvements. We prefer limiting individual donations to no more than $1,000 and corporate donations to $5,000. We already have several in-kind donations for work that needs to be completed in and around the home, but additional funds are required.

Your assistance will ease the worries of Regina on how she balances her time, energy and financial commitments to focus on Pam's well-being.
