Van Gogh's Journey: A Foster's Dedication
Donation protected
Aloha mai kākou (Hello to everyone)!
First off, I appreciate you taking the time and effort to read this moʻolelo (story)!
This beautiful, mostly white cat, is named Van Gogh! He is a rescue cat that I have fostered privately for quite a while now. For transparency, I am not affiliated with, nor sponsored by any nonprofit organization or charity. I have been fostering cats and kittens out of pocket for the last 16 years, as finances and resources allow me to.
Van Gogh was suffering terribly from a bad ear infection, so much to the point that he started scratching his ears constantly. This led to opening wounds beneath his ears, and the wounds starting to bleed.
I took him to Kalihi Pet Clinic in Mōʻiliʻili (within the capital city of Honolulu), on the island of Oʻahu, state of Hawaiʻi, and country of the United States in February 2025. They gave him a full physical exam, took a urine and fecal sample, took a swab of the inside of his ears, and updated his FVRCP vaccinations. When the test results came back, it was discovered that he had an ear infection, along with crystals in his urine.
With me only working intermittently, along with my husband, it has been a significant financial blow for both of us. Because I am not affiliated, nor sponsored by anyone, I am solely responsible for any and all costs associated with my fosters’ care.
I do not mind doing it. However, it does take a toll on me mentally.
I humbly ask for any donation, big or small. Any and all donations will be met with much appreciation and gratitude.
Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for reading this far!
