VAN NEEDED FOR SPECIAL NEEDS DAUGHTER

Jojo
Hello. My name is Carol Anne, and I am 57 years old. My daughter Johanna (Jojo) is 26 years old and has been severely disabled since her birth. She has Sturge-Weber Syndrome ( https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/7706/sturge-weber-syndrome ), which causes seizures, blindness, developmental disabilities, paralysis and sensory/behavioral problems. Jojo had a left lobectomy (brain surgery) in 1997 for seizure control. It left her unable to speak and walk, with severe developmental delay and partially blind.

She is resilient and courageous and continues to be positive. Johanna was the sweetest child and has grown into a remarkable young lady. She requires full-time care (needing assistance with all her needs) and 24/7 supervision.

Caring for her is rewarding and a blessing, and I am honored to be her Mother. I dote on her accomplishments and assure her daily that she is loved and beautiful. She is unique, and her infectious smile shines brightly, reflecting her joy and unconditional love for others.

Many aspects of her life are typical, and she does excellent despite the extreme obstacles she faces. She loves music, spending time with her dog, cuddling with her favorite blanket, watching her four hens frolicking, meal time and attending church, shopping and parks.
Santa and Jojo
We have a good life. I have raised her alone since she was born. Her father chose a different path. My parents were in poor health and could not help me; they have since passed. Our journey has been difficult, but we choose to focus on our happiness and treasure each day.

Momma and Jojo 2021
This is where our request for your help begins. I have never had help, so it is uncomfortable to ask, but here we are. Jojo is a grown adult with a child mentality and a disabled body. She is legally blind and has outbursts/tantrums. I have been loyal and dedicated to caring for her for 26+ years.
Henny and Jojo
I must face that I can no longer lift her into my car during the transition from her wheelchair to the back seat or lift her chair into the trunk of my car. I am a petite lady, and my body is wearing out.
Birthday wishes for Jojo
When we were younger, it all worked out ok. Now that she is a big girl and I am older, it is no longer feasible, and we are homebound. I have been diagnosed with back, neck, right shoulder and right knee degeneration from wear and tear.
Momma and Jojo
I manage well caring for her in our home. It is the transportation part that is no longer attainable. In addition to my inability to lift her into my car, she often melts down, screams, cries, hits me and pulls my hair during the transition. It is due to her insecurity about not being in her chair, which gives her comfort. It is emotionally exhausting for both of us.
Jojo and Momma
I am hoping and praying you will assist us in getting a gently used handicapped van and share our campaign. Additionally, please pray for us. Thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely, Carol Anne and Jojo
