Van Vliet Family Fire after a year of health scares.

Well, how do I even start when people have already been generous with us this year? First, with a huge thank you for all the love and support we received during Kirby’s heart transplant last May, or the support as we lost our dog, or during the surgery from the dog attack I received in October, or during Chance’s adoption. There are no words for the love we have received.

Coming to people this way is honestly the last thing I wanted to do, but yesterday we lost everything as a house fire took our home and our beloved Dozer and Zeus. I am so happy to say that the only one home at the time of the fire was Kirby, and while suffering some scrapes and bruises, he is okay.

I know insurance will cover a lot, but as I lay next to my kiddos in a hotel tonight, I think about the things they won’t. The therapy they will need, the school supplies, the fees to replace passports and IDs, or get a paw print from our dogs before they are cremated.

We love you all so much and know that love is our number one asset. Even if you can’t support us financially, please keep us in your prayers, calls, and thoughts. The next year will be long for all of us.
