Vance and Mom Need Help w Surgery Week & Recovery

I’m creating this out of advice from several friends. Thank you to those who encouraged me to do so. I’m not worried about hitting the goal amount; I just need to be able to be somewhat comfortable and keep my sanity.

Vance is going in again to have the halo traction device surgically installed in his skull. Hoping that his spine straightens out enough to put rods in this summer.

The device is attached to either a walker or wheelchair, depending on the situation. Weight is added to a pulley system which works to decompress his spine. In other words, he’s basically suspended to allow gravity to work magic. He has to be in it at least eight hours a day. The routine is two months for the ordeal, but last time we did six months, and if it weren’t for some noncompliance issues, which were not acknowledged and therefore out of my control, we’d probably be past this point. Those issues have been dealt with and will not happen again!

I need help covering food for two weeks comfortably, coverage for not getting paid from work for the week that Vance and I are required to be in the hospital, and miscellaneous needs like aftercare supplies, cup holder attachments for the walker and wheelchair, a table to lay over his wheelchair handles so he has a flat space, a pillow that accommodates the device and him comfortably to sleep, some extra fuel mileage that is going to have to happen, and etc. This week really impedes on life a lot. Last time, if it weren’t for my sister setting up a GoFundMe, I’m not sure how I would have made it and not gotten months behind financially. Unfortunately, I’m horrible at asking for help!
