Vance's Journey to Recovery After Tragedy
Donation protected
Imagine that you are driving home after a normal Sunday; church in the morning, hanging out with your girlfriend in the afternoon, and then spending some time with your best friend in the evening. You start heading for home. The same country road that you take each and every day, but this time deer come out onto the road out of nowhere. This is the split second that changes your life forever. Deer in the road causing a horrific multi-vehicle accident, resulting in loss of life. Imagine waking up in the ICU and not remembering what happened. This is the story of Vance Peterson, 18 years old, my daughter Zada's boyfriend, and part of my family for the last two years. One split second, hitting a deer, causing a head on collision, resulting in tragic loss. It is truly a miracle that Vance survived the accident after a head on collision and a second collision from another vehicle which left him unconscious and barricaded in his truck. The young man on the left is our hero, Vance's best friend Knowlton, who was driving home in front of Vance. Knowlton saw the situation and quickly got to the scene of the accident and broke open Vance's driver's side window and pulled him out of his burning truck just seconds before it became engulfed in flames. Although Vance has many serious injuries and was life flighted to a trauma 1 medical center to get the care he needed, his life was spared, and we know he had angels surrounding him. The reality is that there will be many medical and legal expenses that his family of 7 will now have to come up with while Vance is trying to recover physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is a heavy situation for this young man and his family. Fees raised from this fundraiser will help take some of that burden off of the family. Please consider helping in any way that you can. Thank you!
