Vandalism Won't Stop the Message

After George Floyd was murdered, South-Broadland Presbyterian Church decided it was important to communicate to the community where it stood regarding racism. One of the efforts was to put up a banner on the front lawn of the church saying "#BLM No Peace Without Justice" . Although the church received some less than affirming comments regarding the sign, the banner remained. That was until the evening hours following the closing of the polls for the Presidential Election. Someone came through the church yard with a knife and eviscerated the banner. A person who lives in the neighborhood encouraged us to start a GoFundMe to replace the banner. It is important that this church communicates we stand with our African American brothers and sisters demanding that they be fully seen as full human beings. There will be no deep and abiding peace until authentic justice is experienced by all. Money raised will be used to replace our banner. If we exceed what we need the remainder will be donated to a local organization that works for racial equality. The members of South-Broadland thank you for helping us make this important statement! We ask that you donate $10 or less in order for us to show those who would stand in opposition how many people in our community believe that #BlackLivesMatter.
