Vanderbilt Avenue Open Street needs your help!
Tax deductible
The Vanderbilt Avenue Open Street is a beloved community program that is enjoyed by thousands of people every year, bringing together neighbors and New Yorkers from all over Brooklyn and beyond. People visit the Open Street to enjoy the reimagined public space and family-friendly programming, and to patronize the many amazing businesses along Vanderbilt Avenue and elsewhere in the neighborhood. With live music, dancing, games, crafts, workshops, food and fitness there is always something to do! This space is both a backyard and a community square we can all enjoy, and it contributes to a more sustainable city for all of us.
We’re as excited about another year of Open Streets as you are — but we do need your help. The Vanderbilt Open Street is a volunteer-run program, but there are still many costs associated with maintaining this public space for everyone to enjoy on a weekly basis. Pandemic-era funding from the federal government has dried up. We’re working closely with our partners in the city to restore funding and allocate additional resources for Open Streets, but these solutions are likely years away. Please make a generous tax-exempt donation so you and your neighbors can enjoy being together again on Vanderbilt Avenue this year!
