Hello Friends and Family,
For those of you who don't already know my cousin Vanessa's son Scott Savitsky II, a 14 year old boy whose energy, sweetness, and soul brings joy and light to everyone he meets was diagnosed with cancer in January 2024..our family's world was shattered. He was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma an Extremely Rare Cancer that typically occurs in children and young adults. It often begins in the legs, bones of the pelvis, and arms. Scott was playing football at school when he kept getting pain in his pelvis area. My cousin wasted no time getting him checked out only to confirm news a family never wants to hear, that it was indeed cancer.
Scott has already started his aggressive treatment of Chemotherapy at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. The Doctors at Beaumont have chosen not to remove the tumor. Due to the rarity of this type of cancer, Vanessa chose to get a 2nd opinion at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio. There, the Doctors have seen more cases of this type of cancer and want to remove the tumor and feel confident that this will help his treatment. The surgery will take place soon.
The financial strain on her family is substantial. She is a single mom of three children. Since the treatments have been moved to Ohio she had no choice but to take an unpaid leave of absence from her full-time position. With medical bills piling up, the challenge of transportation costs and living costs in a different state and for the best treatment for Scott, your donation will help her family focus on Scott and not have the added stress/burden of finances or making ends meet.
Keep the love and prayers coming for Scott as he continues to fight this battle until he wins! We love and thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Please share this post and we will continue to update you as he beats this battle!
