Vanessa's battle with CKD

Hi my name is Vanessa Holden I am 38yrs old I am a mother and a wife I suffer from (CKD) Chronic Kidney Disease. In early 2003 I found out my kidneys were failing due to a very rare bone deases that also attacks the kidneys I was 23 years old maried with a five year old daughter . A double biopsy confirmed that I had lost all kidney function , I was placed on  dyalisis while waiting for a donor , The process is very long and I was sick the entire time .In  late 2003 I was so happy to find out my mom was a perfect match she gave me her kidney in 2004 everything went very well and through excersicing and eating healthy, i was able to keep it for 14 yrs which is pretty good considering my body was trying to kill it the whole time.  It was so disappointing to find out this year that the disease attacked again coupled with my body's efforts to reject the donor kidney. After many harsh treatments in an effort to wipe out my immune system and save it ,my moms kidney failed . currently I'm on dialysis and have to travel for treatments about 40 minutes each way I have had 3 surgery's in the last six months  and currently am searching for a living donor The  stress of  not being able to work or help myself financially along with the strain this disease puts on me is weighing on us , with one income and the cost of living very high we are coming up short and falling farther behind  I am strong I will survive this I have a wonderful supportive family and access to good facilities with great people we just  need a little help any donation would be apreaciated no matter the size  Pushing toward a healthy happy future Vanessa Holden
