Vanessa's Medical Trip to San Diego
Donation protected
I am actively trying to raise money to assist my 6 year old daughter go to the UCSD Medical Center in San Diego and the 11q Research and Research Group Conference in June. She would receive specialty medical care, testing, evaluations, and participate in ground breaking medical studies to better the lives of her and friends. It will also allow her and her parents, to meet doctors, researchers and and other children and their families that are part of the "11q family" that we know.
My daughter has a rare genetic condition called 11q deletion (11q-), often referred to as Jacobsen's Syndrome. It is a rare chromosomal disorder resulting from the deletion of the terminal region of long arm (q) of chromosome 11, causing intellectual disabilities, behavioral issues, distinctive facial appearance, heart defects, hemophilia and a variety of other health conditions. There are approximately 1,000 JS cases in the US and more than 200 cases have been documented in medical literature worldwide. Our daughter, Vanessa, has a much smaller (non-terminal) portion of her 11th chromosome is missing, called an interstitial deletion, which is even less common than JS.
Thank you for your support. Your donation is greatly appreciated to make this opportunity a reality!! It is appreciated in more ways than I can express in words.
Thank you!
