Vanessa Clarke Medical Fundraiser

Donation protected

This fund has been set up to assist with the medical expenses for Vanessa Clarke who recently suffered a brain aneurysm and stroke which further debilitated her beyond her preexisting neurological disorder.

Gospel Recording Artist and Radio Personality Vanessa ‘Divine Lady’ Clarke has been a beacon of hope, love and inspiration throughout The Bahamas and on an international level, positively impacting so many with her melodious voice and encouraging words on the air waves, in writing and in person for years. Vanessa Cordelia Clarke, formerly Vanessa Rolle, is a multi-award winning singer in The Bahamas and Caribbean. She first made history in 1996 when she won the coveted Gospel Music Marlin Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist. She won three more awards over the course of ten years and along with the group Da Fam, captured the Bahamas' Cacique Award for Best Song of the Year in 2005. She was the 2021 International Trailblazer Honoree for the Prayze Factor Awards, which will bear her name going forward. This award winning songwriter and author and has travelled extensively to the United States and parts of the Caribbean for ministry.

Over 3 years ago, in the midst of recording her first project, she suffered a fall which led to further deterioration of her muscles and loss of strength in her legs. Despite the pain and discomfort she faced she pushed through to release her solo album “Like the Dew” along with her second book “Like the Dew Devotional”.

After months of doctor visits and tests, she was diagnosed with a neurological disorder. The costs of treatment and to travel for doctor visits have been exorbitant.

Under the theme of her single “Plead My Cause”, the Friends of Vanessa Clarke joined in with prayer, praise and worship to plead her cause at Benefit concerts in Freeport and Nassau in July and August 2019 respectively. The concerts were very successful and assisted Vanessa not just financially but lifted her spirit as she was overwhelmed by the love and support shown to her.

Within days after the concert in Nassau Vanessa and her family went through Hurricane Dorian which caused much destruction to her hometown, Freeport. It also impacted her ability to attend critical doctor appointments in the United States. COVID-19 then hit that further impeded travel and her getting the care she needs. Through all of this she still found strength to praise God, blessing the body of Christ with new music and books. With the release of songs like “Going Through”, “Faith Walk” and her classic “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Unfortunately Vanessa’s condition has deteriorated and a recent set of new health challenges remerged after suffering a brain aneurysm and stroke in August 2021 resulting in an emergency airlift and surgery in Nassau and subsequent weeks in ICU. Even after her discharge from hospital she continued to release new music and videos. Even in her crisis she holds firm to her faith and continues to sing praises to God.

In May 2023 Vanessa suffered from blood clots in her legs that led to an infection and resulted in doctors amputating both her legs to save her life. Even without legs she continues to praise and thank God for His miracles in her life.

This remarkable, talented Woman of God has been a blessing to the body of Christ giving of her time, talents and treasure is now in need of prayers, love and support.

Vanessa’s husband, Volare Clarke, has been by her side and handling everything including raising their 2 daughters through all is this. Please also keep them in prayers.

In an effort to assist with these medical bills and reoccurring monthly long term care she is in need of this fundraiser has been set up by Friends of Vanessa Clarke Committee chaired by yours truly Eustacia Jennings. All funds raised are transferred to Vanessa’s Scotiabank account.
