Vang Family House Fire and Flood

-- My sister is going to kill me for posting this online, but she's a mother of two young boys, and she just started nursing school—and it's her first semester. She's paying for tuition out of pocket, and now, her family has been displaced from their home. She and her family never ask for help but right now, they could really use it. --
Our sister and brother-in-law, May and Brandon, along with their two small children and Brandon’s younger brother, lost their home on Feb 1st, 2023. A fire erupted in a lower-level bedroom and caused smoke damage to the entire home. Luckily, no one was home at the time. Their home was deemed inhabitable, and they’d been with family and friends for almost a week. Unfortunately, at the instructions given to them, they left windows open to air out the smoke. This caused major water pipes to burst around their home. What could have been salvageable is now all gone. Six days later, insurance has finally put their family in a hotel until more permanent, temporary housing has been found for them. They are told repairs can take up to 9 months or longer until they will be able to live in their home again. Insurance has asked that they pay the rental deposit out of pocket. They have some savings they can use for the deposit but need help making up the rest. May just started nursing school and is already paying for tuition out of pocket and has taken out a loan for tuition as well. Yesterday, Brandon desperately sold his car to the dealership to help free monthly funds. Today, the hotel accidentally charged their bank cards $2500 in incidentals, instead of insurance. While that will be refunded, refunds can take up to a week or more. They’ve been left with nothing. We’re trying to raise money to help them replace some of the items lost in the fire and flood, such as clothes, necessities, and most importantly, safe and stable housing for the boys and May while she juggles nursing school through these hardships. Brandon is their family’s sole provider at this time and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We just want to help this family slowly put their lives back together.
