VAO April 9th March/Protest
Donation protected
Over the last year and a bit, the vaping community in Ontario has been hit hard by the Ontario Government position with vaping. Bill 45 is a constant reminder that they do not understand that vaping isn't smoking!
On December 5th 2015, hundreds of Ontario citizens stood at Queens Park and demanded that vaping should not be regulated without broader consultation with its stakeholders.
On March 10th of this year, the government announced new regulations, this time offering a "consultation process" open to all Ontarians. These regulations do not include exemptions for vape shops.
If the regulations go through as is, will not be able to vape in any public spaces including vape shops.

VAO, has decided that it's time once again to exercise our democratic right to protest against our governments stand on vaping! On Saturday, April 9th, vapers from across Ontario will be taking to the streets and letting everyone know that
VAPING ISN'T SMOKING!
Our goal is to be bigger, louder and have a wider media reach then before.
The money we are trying to raise is to cover the number of costs associated with an event this size. Here is a quick overview of what we are raising money for (prioritized)
1. Staging & sound
2. Press release - to be distributed across the wire
3. Insurance
4. Protest signs
5. Subsidizing for transporation (outside of Toronto)
6. Other items
All money that is collected and used will be accounted for and a cost and balance sheet will be made public on the VAO Website 3 weeks after the event. Any additional funds will be donated to CVA for the Ontario Fund.
In the words of David Sweanor on the Ontario Governments proposed regulations:
"We're almost guaranteeing that people who are trying to get off the product that is our leading cause of preventable death are going to fail"
