Varghese family support

On Saturday 25th of April we received devastating news that our dear friend, colleague and family member Mejo Varghese had tragically passed away. Mejo is the son of Kunnapilly Varghese Mathai and Kochuthresia, Kunnapilly House, Kidangoor, Angamaly and brother to Megha (Ireland) and Melbin (Qatar). Mejo is survived by his beautiful wife Soumya, 4 year old little boy Jhons and yet to be born baby daughter.

A singer, dancer and outstanding sportsman, with achievements at school and district level and whichever community he was part of. Mejo was Irish national badminton champion in 2013 in the Grade 5 level and went on to become runner up in the European badminton championships in 2014. He was spectacular in cricket, soccer and track and field items as well, leading many teams to victory in regular sports events.

Mejo completed his nursing degree from SJM school of Nursing and worked in Ireland from 2008 to 2014. He moved to Port Macquarie, Australia in 2014 and became an active member of the Hastings Macleay Malayalee Association with sensational performances in cultural and sports gatherings and loved by all in the Malayalee and aged care communities in Port Macquarie. His caring nature, smiling face and willingness to help even the worst badminton or cricket player perfect their strokes left a lasting impression on everyone who have had the fortune to have met him.

He married Soumya, only daughter of Puthiyamadom Yohannan Varghese and Susy, in 2011 and their beautiful little boy Jhons was born in 2015. Community members in Port Macquarie are endeavoring to send his earthly remains to his house in Angamaly to let his loved ones in India see him one last time before laying him to rest. Mingaletta have started collecting donations in our home to support Soumya during this difficult time.

If the wider uniting family can find it in their hearts to donate to support Soumya it would be so appreciated. Mejo is so loved at Mingaletta care facility and we will all miss his smiling face and sense of humor, a beautiful man gone too soon!  God must have had a special job he knew only you could do.  We all miss you so much... a true leader and amazing person. 

We are collecting cash donations for Mejo's beautiful family onsite at Mingaletta, 7 Sherwood Rd Port Macquarie,  to support Soumya during this difficult time.
