Vaughn - Not Forgotten

Hello Generous Friends of Vaughn Deel!

It's been 2 months since our dear Vaughn passed. While we mourn his absence, we continue to find joy in all the lives he touched with and through music. So much inspiration, so many connections, so much laughter, so many life lessons, SO MUCH MUSIC came through Vaughn to so many of us.

We are honored to welcome community friends to celebrate Vaughn's life and legacy on Saturday, November 18, on the grounds of Victorian Station - his beloved "Big Pink." For the event, "Vaughn - Not Forgotten," we will have a huge music tent set-up where we can honor him with an open mic (of course!) of songs and stories from 12-5pm. At 5:30pm we will have a brief gathering to dedicate the music room inside Victorian Station to Vaughn. Stuft and 2 other vendors will provide great food options for the day, bars inside and outside of Victorian Station will offer beer and wine for sale, and we'll have some VERY special commemorative items available for attendees. Keep watch on the Victorian Station and Big Pink Music Facebook pages for information as we get closer to the event!

We are expecting a very large crowd. The logistics of putting on an event of this scale are certainly not trivial (delivery trucks, tents, porta potties, permits, etc, etc.). We have also commissioned the artistic team of Glen Kingman and Arwyn Latham to create two gorgeous piece of commemorative artwork for the event and listening room dedication. A current tally shows expenses will be at least $3200.

This event will be financed entirely through the generosity of friends of Vaughn Deel, so we are asking for community donations to share the financial burden. If there are friends who would like to take a larger role and sponsor a specific part/activity, we would certainly be happy to share information to enable this. Any amount is appreciated!
