Vaux 11th Graders Go to the Nation's Capital!

Hello!

My name is Robbie, and I am a proud teacher and advisor at Vaux Big Picture High School in North Philadelphia. I have been with my 11th grade advisees since the beginning of their 10th grade year, and will remain with them through their graduation.

This specific class has had a rough go at their high school experience so far, as the pandemic plucked them from their desks and put them behind a computer when they were in 8th grade, and then by the time we were in person again they were 10th graders.

Last year our trip to Washington DC fell through with only a couple weeks remaining because our school district would not approve the affordable bus company we identified.

This year we are running it back! However, we do not have the budget to fund the bus that we had last year. Once we get to DC, everything we have planned will be free. We just need the $2,400 plus $100 driver tip to get there and back.
