This is my mom. I can’t think of another person more beautiful, hardworking, genuine, and kindhearted.
I knew she was having headaches for a few days, but who doesn’t, right? I was wrong. They got so intense, after a bottle of Advil with no relief she decided to go to the doctor. They ran several tests, which turned out to be suspicious. When they found a tumor in the back of her brain, I wasn’t sure how to react. Doctors said they needed to take a sample to know for sure how to treat this. On Tuesday the results came back and our deepest fears unfolded.
The tumor turned out to be lymphoma brain cancer. Due to the location of the tumor they cannot remove it surgically so she will be starting chemotherapy next week.
At first I was adamant about making this public as I typically process things privately but this isn’t about me and seeing my mom so vulnerable and scared isn’t my normal. She has always been my rock. This is for her, my inspiration, my best friend, my mom, and she is going to be fighting to save her life.
Taking into consideration the urgency of the situation it has been difficult for her to stay positive and hopeful. They say that the survival rate of cancer patients are significantly improved when the person has a positive outlook on life and has an abundance of love and support from friends and family. Right now, that is exactly what she needs.
We are facing the challenge of raising the funds to cover her treatment, as the deductible is $5,000. Do not feel obligated to donate, simply sending her message of encouragement is just as appreciated. I am asking for your generosity, support, and much needed PRAYERS!
