Support Kathy's Battle with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
I’m here asking for support for my friend, Kathy, and all her medical expenses and other financial expenses. Her medical issues have taken a huge financial burden on Kathy and Jason. I want to help her as she is the first one to help other people. I've witnessed that so many times. She is the 1st to help others whether cancer or domestic violence survivors as she has suffered that in the past. She is such a good friend to me and I want to help.
Kathy has dealt with cancer in the past and was in remission. This time - It all started with a cold or sinus infection that never went away and she was struggling with breathing. That led to going to the ER and having her blood so low that she had a couple blood transfusions and a hospital stay. Unfortunately, that hospital stay turned into numerous hospitals visits and transfusions. Throughout the last couple years, Kathy has had more tests than anybody would want to deal with and yet she kept smiling. She is so fatigued at times, she can barely move. She has days of just laying in bed crying and not being able to move, but keeps trying to find the positive in life. She often says when I have a good day, I want to see my friends/family and talk to them! She understands that the good days are worth everything.
Kathy has gone through multiple surgical procedures, a bone marrow biopsy, infusion treatments, transfusions, etc. Her hemoglobin has been so low that transfusions have become the norm which affects her other treatments. She just recently had another procedure as her oncologist feels there is a new internal bleeding issue. She had another procedure which confirmed more internal bleeding. Her surgery is in the process of being scheduled. That means more medical expenses, time off, lack of work, etc... Kathy told me the other day that as much as she hates needles, she is starting to get used to the constant poking.
During all of this, Kathy has had to cut back to less than part time work. She was put on a medical disability with her Company. The financial toll on them is bad. She has been told to not drive very far from her Oncology care team as her blood levels can drop randomly. I've witnessed that a few times trying to keep her from fainting in front of me. If you all know Kathy - She is hating not being busy.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this. I will keep all of you updated.
Please pray for Kathy and if you are able, please consider donating to help her with her medical expenses.
